Overview
The story that lit a nation
HAMILTON: The First Flame is a historical feature film from Golden Eagle Films, bringing to life the remarkable true story of faith, courage, sacrifice, and the beginnings of the Scottish Reformation.
Set against the richly detailed world of 16th-century Scotland, the film is grounded in extensive historical research, with particular attention given to the people, places, events, architecture, clothing, and culture of the period. Our goal is not simply to recreate history, but to bring it vividly and authentically to life for a new generation.

Synopsis
Scotland, the 1520s. Patrick Hamilton, a young nobleman of Kincavil with royal blood and a scholar's restless mind, returns from the universities of Europe carrying ideas his country has forbidden. Between the loyalty he owes his family, the power of the church and the uncertain favour of a young king, he must decide what his convictions are worth. This is the story of what came before the flame, and the family behind it.
